The P-Sports parking location has been expanded with more on-site parking spaces and a (dismountable) car park building. This was necessary because the Echo education building is being realised in the Stevin area and the entire area is being redesigned. In time, all parking spaces in this area (approximately 400) will be relocated. The parking building and the P-sports area offer more than 800 parking spaces. The total parking capacity in the area will therefore remain the same. The surrounding buildings are easily accessible on foot from this location.

In the coming years TU Delft will also be replacing various scattered parking spaces on the campus with larger, easily accessible parking facilities right on the campus ring road.

Design

The façades of the parking garage are provided with vertical wall boxes with a mix of plant species that change colour with the seasons. This gives the garage a natural look, while the ventilation of the open car park is guaranteed. The plants also limit noise pollution and capture particulate matter. Nesting boxes for birds, bats and bees have also been incorporated in the façades.

The garage is built with a modular system, with prefab concrete and steel elements. After use, it can be completely dismantled for use elsewhere. This makes the garage an example of circular and sustainable construction.
