Flux
In the middle of the campus – between Cornelis Drebbelweg, Leeghwaterstraat, Korvezeestraat and Feldmannweg – TU Delft builds the new Flux teaching building. The building is needed to accommodate continued and rapid growth in the number of students. Flux will be a modular and demountable building and is expected to be at this location for five to ten years. This will provide the space, time and flexibility to respond to the size of the student population and developments in education as a result of Covid-19 and with regard to blended learning.
Sustainability
The construction has been designed to be circular, enabling it to be reconstructed elsewhere in the future if required. The building will be equipped with LED lighting and solar panels. In addition, circular floorboards will be used in the interior, which were previously used at the 2012 London Olympics, among others. Flux will be furnished as much as possible with refurbished furniture, partly from TU Delft’s own stock.
