Amsterdam, The Netherlands – GBM Works, a pioneering Dutch company developing an innovative
silent installation technique for offshore wind monopiles, the Vibrojet®, announces the successful first close of a minimum €6 million seed funding round. The funding comes from a strong investor consortium comprising Rotterdamse Havendraken, Katapult Ocean, EIC Fund and existing shareholders while providing opportunity for co-investors participating for oversubscription up to €7.5 million.

This investment will enable GBM Works to accelerate the development and commercialization of its groundbreaking Vibrojet technology, which significantly reduces noise pollution during offshore wind monopile installation. By addressing key environmental challenges, the Vibrojet ensures compliance with stricter marine noise regulations and enhances the sustainability of offshore wind projects. Unlike traditional pile-driving methods, which generate excessive noise harming marine ecosystems, the Vibrojet offers a quieter, more efficient, and environmentally friendly alternative, paving the way for greener offshore wind development.

The offshore wind market is experiencing rapid expansion, driven by global renewable energy goals and the increasing scale of offshore wind projects. As the industry evolves, the need for sustainable and noise-reducing installation methods has become paramount, with developers seeking innovative solutions to meet stricter environmental regulations. GBM Works is at the forefront of this growing market, offering cutting edge technology that aligns with the industry’s commitment to efficiency and environmental responsibility.

Reducing underwater noise

Oceanic stewardship

The Seed Round will fund the final development phases of the Vibrojet technology, such as the SIMPLE III offshore test in March 2025 co-funded by 13 trusted industry partners being Shell, Eneco, Vattenfall, EnBW, Ecowende, Seaway7, Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind, DEME Offshore, CAPE Holland, Van Oord, GROW, Deltares and TNO. Furthermore, it will enable the first commercial deployment with Ecowende in the Hollandse Kust West VI windfarm early 2026. These milestones will demonstrate the feasibility of GBM Works’ silent technology for large-scale offshore wind projects, establishing the company as a leader in environmentally conscious innovation for the renewable energy sector.
