More circular economy and less waste from SMEs on business parks
March 14, 2023 - 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Only 25% of the waste in the SME sector is reused. More often than large companies, SMEs encounter difficulties in implementing a circular approach due to their limited organisational, technical and financial capacity. The Upcycle Your Waste project has been working on this for the past three years on business parks in Great Britain, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. The aim of this project was to use research to help SMEs at a local level to get more out of discarded materials and products.
In this workshop the research and different approaches are presented. These can be inspiring for local authorities, park managers and SMEs to get the circular economy going locally and to save on the waste bill. The aim of the workshop is to show the participants what the possibilities are and how to implement this ‘at home’.
The program
- 1:00 pm: Walk-in
- 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm: Presentation of the findings of the project and plenty of time for questions.
- 2:30 pm – 3:00 pm: Coffee/tea
- 3:00 – 4:00 pm: Case study in groups of 5 people (the purpose of the cases is that you find starting points to get started)
- How do I get my organisation and surrounding companies to get more out of discarded products and materials? What am I running into? How can I deal with that?
- What can I organise on the business park and how do I do that? How would someone else handle that?
- 4:00 pm: Drinks
The free workshop will take place on Tuesday 14 March at TU Delft. You can register via this link (maximum attendance of 20 people). In the event of too many registrations priority will be given to municipalities, business park managers and SMEs who have registered first (they will receive a confirmation as soon as possible). Directions are shared a few days in advance.
